*SHARING OF CHRIST’S PEACE

As God has forgiven us in Christ, let us also forgive one another.

The peace of Christ be with you all.

     And also with you.

                                                The sharing of Christ’s peace.**

PREPARATION FOR WORSHIP               Abide, O Dearest Jesus                   Karg-Elert

*CALL TO WORSHIP (Responsive)  (Please Stand)

Happy are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the way of the Lord.

Happy are those who keep God’s decrees, who seek him with their whole heart, who do no wrong, but walk in the way of the Lord. We praise God with upright hearts.

Let us worship the Lord our God!

*HYMN 35                              Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty           LOBE DEN HERREN

CALL TO CONFESSION             (Please Be Seated)

  PRAYER OF CONFESSION (In Unison)

Holy God, we confess that we bow down before other gods; we have turned our hearts away from you. Our worship of work and devotion to consumerism disorders our love of you and each other. Forgive us, God, and mend what is broken, that we may be one with you. We pray in the name of Christ. Amen.

RESPONSE                              I Waited Patiently for God                         LAND OF REST

I waited patiently for God, for God to hear my prayer;
and God bent down to where I sank and listened to me there.

God raised me from a miry pit, from mud and sinking sand,
and set my feet upon a rock where I can firmly stand.

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

ILLUMINATION 458          Thy Word Is a Lamp unto My Feet                         THY WORD

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.

When I am afraid, and I think I’ve lost my way, still you’re there right beside me.

Nothing will I fear as long as you are near. Please be near me to the end.

ANTHEM                                               Assurance                                                        Beck

Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood. This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior, all the day long; perfect submission, all is at rest, I in my savior am happy and blest, watching and waiting, looking above, filled with His goodness, lost in His love.

MESSAGE                    Anger and Jesus and You and Me                                  Guest

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH (In Unison)                                                      Philippians 2:5-11

Christ Jesus, though he was in the form of God, did not regard equality with God as something to be exploited, but emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, being born in human likeness. And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient to the point of death—even death on a cross. Therefore God also highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bend, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess to the glory of God: Jesus Christ is Lord! Amen.

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.  Amen.
