Heifer Project Time

Once again it is Heifer Project time.  The Missions and Outreach Team is planning this for Sunday morning November 11 from 10-12 in the parlor. We will set up sales of animal livestock and homemade goods from our congregation.  Our donations go to Heifer Project International where healthy cows, pigs, sheep, ducks, llamas, water buffalos, bees, fish, chickens and rabbits are sent to struggling areas around the world.  You can also purchase irrigation pumps, biogas stoves, clean water, schooling and more to enable our world family. Thank you to all of you who make items to sell.  Anyone is invited to do their craft which will be displayed and usually sold.  Your lovely work has often been perfect for early Christmas shopping. Items can be left under the hall counter (please indicate "Heifer" and your price).  It also can be brought in on Sat the 10th at 2pm or Sunday the 11th by 10 am.

We thank you for this yearly success--Missions and Outreach Team

New Bible Study

The last meeting of our Coffee and Conversation group was on Oct. 15 and will not be meeting again until sometime next year. In its place, a Bible study on the Psalms will begin in November, using a study guide by Miriam Dunson called A Very Present Help. The study is specifically aimed at older adults, but all ages are welcome. Topics include “The world has changed and so have I,” “Living on life’s roller coaster,” and “Calm assurance in the midst of dark valleys.”

The class will meet weekly in the parlor on Wednesday afternoons from 3 to 4 p.m. Books will be available for purchase at the first class on Nov. 14. There is a sign-up sheet on the table opposite the parlor to indicate your interest. Sign up deadline is on October 22 so books can be ordered. Hope to see you there!

Food Pantry

Due to the cancellation of CROP WALK this year, this means our church’s food pantry will not receive the percentage of funds allocated to our community. Mission and Outreach would like to suggest that those in our congregation, who have supported CROP WALK, give that amount directly to our food pantry.
