We are pleased to serve our community at large with a licensed preschool program September through May. We offer classes for 2, 3, and 5 year olds. We serve not only members of our own church but also families in our community regardless of church affiliation. Our program has been in operation for over 50 years. Our director, Linda Timm, has a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and has been with our program for 27 years. The staff takes pride in offering activities that allow children to gain social self-confidence, explore and discover in areas of preschool readiness and experience group dynamics so that the students will be confident in their skills in future school experiences. We follow a curriculum developed over the years and adapted to changing demands of school readiness skills. We fill our days with music, fun, and hands-on activities so that each child's first school experience is a positive one. We feel when early-on school is FUN, a love of learning follows.
We welcome Miss Jessica Pears who will be working with Mrs. Timm this year as an assistant teacher. She is a graduate of Western Michigan University. During her time there, she majored in Elementary Education, completing a school internship at Eastside Elementary School. Upon graduating, Ms. Pears obtained a position teaching Pre-K students and later went on to work as a Title 1 Teacher with Kindergartners. Ms. Pears enjoys working with the Niles Philanthropic Sorority, Psi Iota Xi. She participates in many community events around the Michiana area and volunteers at the Niles Public Library. Ms. Pears grew up in Niles, but recently moved to Granger. She now spends time gardening and renovating her new home.
