Church Information
The
First Presbyterian Church of Niles, MI has a church
membership of nearly 500. We belong
to the Lake
Michigan Presbytery of the Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.). In addition to our 2 Sunday
morning worship services (one worship service June-August),
we offer Sunday
school for all ages, Adult Sunday School, several
Bible study groups and prayer groups, Vacation
Bible School, and Presbyterian preschool. The
Youth Group is active in outreach and mission work.
The
Music Ministry includes
adult and youth choirs, handbell choirs, as well
as special events such as organ recitals and choral
concerts.
The
Deacons sponsor holiday gift and food distributions to needy families, stock school backpacks, mail "goody boxes" to the military, deliver flowers to the home-bound, deliver food from the food pantry, sponsor blood drives, transportation
for church events, and various fund raisers.
The
Elders, as the Session,
provide spiritual and practical leadership and make decisions
in governing the church body.
Other examples
of outreach include the food pantry, winter clothing distribution, Tiny Talkers, Stephen Ministry, community lunch, and support of various missions.
