General Church Information

The First Presbyterian Church of Niles, MI has a church membership of nearly 500. We belong to the Lake Michigan Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). In addition to our 2 Sunday morning worship services (one worship service June-August), we offer Sunday school for all ages, Adult Sunday School, several Bible study groups and prayer groups, Vacation Bible School, and Presbyterian preschool. The Youth Group is active in outreach and mission work.

The Music Ministry includes adult and youth choirs, handbell choirs, as well as special events such as organ recitals and choral concerts.

The Deacons sponsor holiday gift and food distributions to needy families, stock school backpacks, mail "goody boxes" to the military, deliver flowers to the home-bound, deliver food from the food pantry, sponsor blood drives, transportation for church events, and various fund raisers.

The Elders, as the Session, provide spiritual and practical leadership and make decisions in governing the church body.

Other examples of outreach include the food pantry, winter clothing distribution, Tiny Talkers, Stephen Ministry, community lunch, and support of various missions.
