A Moment of Reflection
John Grinnell
Unlike my wife, I was not brought
up in the church. It wasn't until my senior year in
high school that some friends invited me to Sunday shcool
at First Pres. Then at the age of 18, I made my profession
of faith even though I had very little Biblical understanding.
In retrospect, it was a good decision becuase it put
me on the right path.
I attended church regularly,
but God was not on my mind during the week. Something
was missing... A light finally came on and I experienced
that personal relationship with Jesus Christ through
the Holy Spirit.
I realized I wasn't in control
of my life and that my trust needed to be in the Lord,
especially during those valleys we all experience. Now,
I TRY to glorify God in all that I do. And I do rejoice
that my wife and I are on the same path.
In Proverbs 3, it says, "Trust
the Lord with all your heart. Do not lean on your own
understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and
He will direct your path.
